This page sets you up for the work ahead — quickly, clearly, and with shared purpose.
Before you begin, look at the Importance / Performance scale shown below.
You will use this scale throughout the day, and it sits at the heart of how the Pyramid creates clarity.
It is the simplest way to express two essential truths:
- How critical is this to your success?
- How well are you currently delivering it?
When these two numbers differ, the Pyramid reveals its most valuable signals — areas where attention, investment, or correction will create immediate momentum.
Keep the scale in mind as you work. It will shape everything you do next.
HoW TO SCORE EFFECTIVELY
1. See the Shape of Your Business
Look across the entire Pyramid — bottom to top, left to right.
You’ll see three Dimensions:
- Organisational — the foundations: people, structure, direction, marketing, care, process, finance.
- Operational — the engine: leadership, learning, sales, delivery, technology, accounting.
- Market — the outward force: products, services, channels, and customers.
These 17 Elements form a complete picture of how your business works today — and how it needs to work tomorrow.
As you scan, hold the Importance / Performance scale in your mind.
Ask yourself: Which Elements feel mission-critical? Which feel underdone? Which feel stable?
You don’t need to score anything yet; you’re warming up your intuition.
2. Step Back and Spot the Patterns
Take two steps back from the poster.
Patterns will appear quickly:
- Elements you talk about often
- Elements everyone avoids
- Areas full of tension
- Areas full of opportunity
- Areas you believe matter deeply
- Areas performing well but not strategically central
This is where the scale becomes useful.
When your eyes land on an Element that feels “very important but not strong,” you’ve just noticed a live gap — a signal worth exploring.
Conversely, if something feels “low importance, solid performance,” it may not deserve your attention today.
This is the Pyramid beginning to work.
3. Create Shared Clarity
Clarity comes from conversation. Turn to your TEAM and talk out loud.
Point to the poster.
Name what feels essential.
Name what feels tense.
Name what feels uncertain.
Use the scale lightly at this stage:
- Is this Element high importance or low?
- Does our current performance feel high or low?
- Is the gap obvious, hidden, or emerging?
No scoring yet — just sensing.
This creates the shared mental map you’ll rely on all day.
4. Use the Poster as Your Working Surface
Your poster is a live workspace, not decoration.
Trace connections.
Circle hotspots.
Note Elements that feel vital but under-delivered.
Note Elements that feel strong but not strategically central.
Your early observations will become the anchors for your deeper work.
5. Pause, Reassess, Move Forward
Before moving to the next QR page, step back once more.
Ask:
- Which Elements feel high importance / low performance?
- Where is the greatest leverage?
- Where is risk accumulating quietly?
- Where is momentum easiest to unlock?
These answers form the backbone of your next conversation.
